The TBI, established at UDSC, New Delhi, aims to be a hub for technology business interface in the frontier areas of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology. The mission of this TBI is to incubate ideas / innovations and juvenile technologies to establish ventures for commercialization to feasible ventures. Additionally, building up of entrepreneurship values and providing value added services to help new and existing entrepreneurs and industries to become more competitive through use of innovative and state of the art technologies.

UDSC TBI shall provide services and support for the development and commercialization of ideas, innovations, juvenile & new technologies and products. Training of skilled workforce to meet the challenges for various activities and opportunities in various fields of industrial microbiology and biotechnology for application in various industries like pharmaceuticals, oleochemicals, food and feed, nutraceuticals, leather, agrochemicals, textiles, paper and pulp, biofuels etc.

Financially, this TBI is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and has close association with National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Association of small and medium entrepreneurs (ASME) and others. State of the art technical and incubation facilities have been developed in different area of Industrial microbiology and biotechnology which will help incubatees in developing newer innovation and ideas into feasible technologies and their subsequent commercialization.
